Wishes & fishes at Santa By the Sea

Tanks full of fishes and holiday wishes come together for a magical evening at Santa by the Sea Dec. 13. A personal encounter with St. Nick for each child 12 and under and a souvenir photo highlights the night. Crafts, elves, stories and magic shows add sparkle. Ticket sales 5:30-8:30 p.m. or get on the nice list – buy in advance.
Holiday camps Dec. 26-27 turn school break into winter adventure. Sign up for one or both days, Coastal Explorers for grades 2-3 meets mornings; Aquatic Adventurers for grades 4-5 afternoons. $35 per session; $31.50 members. Advance registration required.
Look for spots of green and red in the Living Shipwreck as Dec. 25 nears and elves appear during dive shows. Nearby, white is the word. Find Nimbus in a new home, the Wreck of the Caribsea. The rare white loggerhead, now three years old, recently moved in with the angelfish and other colorful swimmers.
Pssst. Tell a teacher about a great deal on traveling programs. Book an Outreach visit for January or February by the end of December for a 10 percent discount.
The Aquarium is closed Christmas Day so staff may enjoy time with their families. Standard operating hours of 9 a.m.-5 p.m. resume Dec. 26. The Aquarium is also open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on New Year’s Day.
