Pier hosts Santa & Festival of Trees
Jennette’s Pier

The pier is one of a dozen attractions celebrating the holidays with lights, decorations and more in conjunction with the Outer Banks Visitor’s Bureau’s OBXmas Weekends. Be sure to stop by!

Looking for unique, marine-themed gifts? Come see our large and small crab pot Christmas trees, which offer a coastal look to brighten your home.

Speaking of trees, the 25th Annual Festival of Trees, sponsored by Outer Banks Hotline, is set for Dec. 5-7 in Oceanview Hall. Donated by area business and organizations, the Christmas trees and gifts are auctioned off Saturday night with proceeds going to the women’s shelter. Santa stops by, too.

Anglers can find fishing fun in December, and everyone hopes November’s terrific red drum bite will linger. Also, keep in mind that striped bass like cold water. These tasty, hard-fighting fish migrate south from Chesapeake Bay, Va., most winters. To learn how to target “rock fish,” sign up for one several advanced fishing classes offered weekly.

To keep up with when the big ones come through, check out the pier’s Daily Fishing Report as well as our Facebook page for photos and more. Jennette’s winter hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily December through March. The pier is closed Christmas Day and resumes standard 8 a.m.-5p.m. hours on Dec. 26. The pier is also open 8 a.m-5 p.m. New Year’s Day.
