The Aquarium’s new Soundside Pier opens June 21! The 200-foot-long structure is ideal for the Aquarium’s popular on-the-water programs, such as kayaking, fishing and crabbing. A lower deck adds space for other aquatic adventures. A covered gazebo offers an inviting area to relax and take in lovely Croatan Sound and sunsets.

Become an aquarist during a weeklong Aquarist Camp. Youngsters ages 11-13 work hands-on with staff behind the scenes to discover the ins and outs of feeding animals, maintaining exhibits and treating sick or injured critters. Campers trek into the marsh to collect a variety of animals, such as pipefish, grass shrimp, fiddler crabs, juvenile fish and more. Space is limited to 12 campers and advance registration is required.
